Luka Doncic could be shut down by Mavericks
Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic could be shut down for the final three games of the regular season, reports Shams Charania on FanDuel TV.
Charania says the Mavericks, who currently sit a game out of the Play-In Tournament, are "seriously considering" shutting Doncic and Kyrie Irving down to maximize their draft pick potential. Doncic has been exceptional over the last seven games since returning from a five-game absence, but the Mavericks have only won once in that span. Jaden Hardy and Josh Green will likely start and play heavy minutes if the Mavericks do shut down Doncic and Irving. Dallas' next game is on Wednesday versus the Sacramento Kings.
Luka is leading the Mavericks with a 37.8% usage rate and averaging 57.4 FanDuel points per game this season.
