Warriors' Anderson Varejao officially ruled out for Olympics
Golden State Warriors power forward/center Anderson Varejao (back) has been ruled out for the Olympics.
Tough break for the Brazilian. Varejao visited a back specialist earlier in the week to diagnose and examine a lower back disc herniation. It is expected that he'll be ready in time for training camp, but nothing is guaranteed for the injury-prone big man, who played 53 games this season.
Varejao posted a 0.0 nERD, which ranked 80th, this season and averaged 2.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in just 9.4 minutes per game. He recorded a .473 true shooting percentage in time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Warriors.
