Pistons fear Reggie Jackson (knee) facing lengthy absence

Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson (left knee tendinitis) could miss "extended time" to start the season, and the Pistons are reportedly exploring the point guard market as a result.

What It Means:

Jackson didn't participate in Tuesday's practice session and confessed to Pistons' beat writers that he's been plagued by tendinitis in his left knee for "years," although it hasn't caused him to miss anytime through his three years in the Association. However, if Detroit feels the need to explore the market for a point guard, then it's obviously something worthy of concern. Ish Smith, Lorenzo Brown and Ray McCallum apparently don't instill much confidence into head coach Stan Van Gundy as the team's starting point guard. This puts a pretty big dent in Jackson's fantasy value, but he should remain on draft boards.

Jackson -- who ranked 49th with a 3.2 nERD -- enjoyed a breakout season in Detroit in 2015-2016. In his first full year running the show, he averaged 18.8 points, 3.2 boards, 6.2 assists and 1.5 3-pointers per game. His .535 true shooting percentage was the best clip of his career.
