Tyronn Lue stepping away from coaching Cavaliers for time being due to health concerns
Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue says he is stepping away from the team for the time being due to ongoing health issues.
In a statement on the Cavs' website, Lue says, "I have had chest pains and other troubling symptoms, compounded by a loss of sleep, throughout the year. After many conversations with our doctors and Koby and much thought given to what is best for the team and my health, I need to step back from coaching for the time being and focus on trying to establish a stronger and healthier foundation from which to coach for the rest of the season." Lue wasn't on the bench for the second half of Saturday's game with an undisclosed illness, and apparently he's been dealing with it for the entirety of the 2017-18 season. Until Lue is back, Larry Drew will assume head coaching duties.
The Cavaliers are currently 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 40-29 heading into their Monday matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.
