Chris Clemons explodes for 51 points in Campbell's upset win Thursday
Campbell Fighting Camels sophomore guard Chris Clemons went off for 51 points in Thursday's upset win over the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the Big South Conference Tournament.
Clemons scored 51 of the Camels 81 points as he went 18-for-32 from the field including 8-for-14 from three. The sophomore destroyed his previous season-high of 37 points as he upped his scoring average to 24.1 points per game, the third-most in all of Division I.
Campbell entered the game with a 15-16 record and as the 278th ranked team -- out of 351 -- regarding nERD rating. Just two more wins, however, and they will find themselves in the big dance
