It didn't appear that Pinson would have been drafted this June so he wisely decided to return to the Tar Heels where he could see an expanded offensive role next season. The role player averaged 23.8 minutes per game his junior year but is in line for extra playing time with Justin Jackson, Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks not returning in the fall.

Pinson averaged 6.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 38.1 percent from the floor.
