Running backs are often diminished values in the NFL Draft no matter what. In the 2013 Draft, Eddie Lacy, Giovani Bernard, and Le'Veon Bell all lasted into the second round, despite being excellent talents. Arian Foster is the classic example of an undrafted star. Could Jhurrell Pressley become that?

Despite his limitations on third-down, Pressley has freakish speed for his weight: he stands 5’10” and 206 pounds but ran a 4.38 40 Yard Dash at his pro day, as well as a 6.92 3 Cone and 4.06 20 Yard Shuttle. He has the quickness and agility to make a play in short areas, and his jump cut is explosive to say the least.

He will make defenders miss, and if he can get into open space, he’s gone. In his last two seasons at New Mexico, Pressley averaged 995 yards rushing on 130 carries (7.65 Yards per Carry) and 11 touchdowns per year.

Pressley joins the quite-defined backfield of the Minnesota Vikings, with veteran superstar Adrian Peterson atop the depth chart. Still, this isn’t the worst landing spot possible: Peterson is over age 30 at this point, and the only other staunch competition on the Vikings’ roster right now is Jerick McKinnon, whose primary strength -- third-down ability -- complements Pressley’s weakness.
