3 Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Options for Week 12

The tight end position in 2019 features distinct tiers. It's headlined by the elite trio of Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Zach Ertz. Behind them is a young trio of promising options who many gamers drafted expecting them to take a leap forward this year in the form of O.J. Howard. Evan Engram, and Hunter Henry.

Things haven't gone according to plan with some breakout candidates, but Darren Waller and Mark Andrews have helped add some talent to the position. Still, tight end continues to leave something to be desired. Whether you entered the year planning to stream or have been disappointed by the option you drafted, I've got you covered. Below, there are three widely available options for streamers for Week 12.

Jacob Hollister, Seattle Seahawks

Yahoo Ownership: 32%

Jacob Hollister has been quite the find for the Seattle Seahawks, and he's more than help ease the pain of losing Will Dissly for the year due to injury back in Week 6. The club acquired him from the Patriots for a seventh-round pick in the offseason. He failed to make the active roster out of the chute but was on the practice squad before his activation in Week 6. He didn't garner a target in his first game action in Week 6, but he's been targeted six or more times in three of four games since.

He's riding a four-game streak of catching multiple passes, and his two best showings have come in his last two games. Prior to Seattle's Week 11 bye, he hauled in 4 of 6 targets for 37 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 9, and he was targeted a whopping 10 times in Week 10, securing 8 grabs for 62 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

As you might've deduced from his three touchdowns in his last two games, he's proven to be a weapon in the red zone. Russell Wilson has targeted Hollister 5 times in the red zone, and he's caught 4 of those passes and scored 3 touchdowns. Prior to suffering a season-ending injury, Dissly hauled in 4 of 6 targets in the red zone for 4 touchdowns.

Playing tight end in the red zone for the Seahawks with their superstar quarterback has been-fantasy friendly, and rookie receiver D.K. Metcalf's remarkable inefficiency is doing little to threaten Hollister's role in that part of the field. Expanding on Metcalf's inefficiency in the red zone, he's caught just two of 12 targets. Perhaps recent addition Josh Gordon will threaten for looks in scoring territory, but if something's not broken, why fix it? The Seahawks are small underdogs (two points) on the road in Philadelphia this week, but their implied total of 23.0 points, per FanDuel Sportsbook, isn't too shabby.

Noah Fant, Denver Broncos

Yahoo Ownership: 28%

Rookie Noah Fant hadn't cleared 40 receiving yards in his first eight games, and he'd caught more than two passes only twice. He's emerged as a go-to option in the passing attack in the wake of the Denver Broncos dealing receiver Emmanuel Sanders following their Week 7 loss. Fant's posted lines of 3 receptions for 115 yards and 1 touchdown on 4 targets and 4 receptions for 60 receiving yards on 11 targets over the last two games. In three games without Sanders, he's totaled 24 targets, 12 receptions, 201 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown reception.

Another change that's of note during the last few weeks is Brandon Allen filling in for an injured Joe Flacco at quarterback. Allen's attempted 59 passes this year, and he's chucked 15 of those passes Fant's way. Fant's target total on passes from Allen is second on the team behind Courtland Sutton's 17, and Fant's 7 receptions are also second to Sutton's 10 receptions. The rookie tight end does have a team-high 175 receiving yards on passes from Allen.

He'll face a daunting challenge against the Bills this week. Buffalo's faced the fewest targets (42) to tight ends this year, and they've allowed the fewest receptions (29), second-fewest receiving yards (296), and tied for the fewest touchdown receptions (1) allowed to the position this season, according to Pro-Football-Reference. Having cautioned against the tough matchup, it's still important to note volume's king in fantasy. And, with that said, Fant's volume outweighs the tough matchup. If picking between Hollister and Fant, I'd rather have the former, but the latter's a viable streamer, too.

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles

Yahoo Ownership: 19%

The Philadelphia Eagles were on bye in Week 10, and Dallas Goedert sandwiched their bye with appearances in this space. This will be the third time he's appeared here in Philadelphia's last three weeks with a game. He's an integral part of the team's offense.

Goedert's riding a five-game streak of catching three passes of more, and he's been targeted five times or more in four of those contests. He's also caught a touchdown in three of those games, including bringing in Philadelphia's only touchdown against the Patriots in Week 11.

Alshon Jeffery was out for the Eagles last week, and that resulted in Godert playing a season-high 81 percent of the offensive snaps. He finished the game tied for third in targets with 6, and his 3 receptions and 36 receiving yards were both third on the team, respectively. Jeffery could reportedly be back as soon as this week. Regardless, Goedert's not your standard second tight end on a team. He's played 69 percent or more of Philadelphia's offensive snaps in six of the team's last seven games.

Goedert draws a favorable matchup this week. The Seahawks have yielded the sixth-most receiving yards (615) and 11th-most receptions (51) to tight ends. The four receiving touchdowns they've allowed to tight ends this season are tied for the 10th-most. Three of the four touchdowns they've allowed to tight ends this year have been scored in the red zone, and the second-year tight end thrives in scoring territory. Goedert's hauled in 4 of 6 targets in the red zone, and three of those grabs have been for scores.

The Eagles' implied total of 25.0 points is the highest of any of the teams with tight ends touted as streamers in this piece. Goedert's ever so slightly my favorite streaming option at tight end this week out of the trio, and the favorable matchup and implied total tip the scales in his favor.
