3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 16

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing productive quarterbacks who have good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Deshaun Watson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

In Week 15, Ryan Fitzpatrick totaled 20.46 fantasy points in a sweet matchup with the New York Giants, checking in as QB7 for the week. For the season, we've had a QB1 (top-12) outing in nine of 15 weeks, and our per-week average of 15.8 fantasy points is good for the season-long QB16 in points per game among signal callers who have made at least 10 starts.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks owned in fewer than roughly 30% of Yahoo! leagues who are in good spots this week.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dolphins

Yahoo Ownership: 25%

Once again, we're rolling with Ryan Fitzpatrick as he continues his run of dreamy matchups.

This week, he's at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy ranks as the fifth-worst overall defense and the sixth-worst pass D, per our schedule-adjusted metrics. They've given up the ninth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.

Fitzpatrick has been a quality fantasy option lately, due in large part to the aforementioned friendly schedule. He's scored at least 20 fantasy points in three of the last four weeks, with the lone exception being a 14.30-point day. A key factor has been his legs as he's run for at least 30 yards in three of the last four, including a 65-yard day. He's got 219 rushing yards on the year, which is -- somehow -- tops on the Miami Dolphins.

Our models project Fitzmagic for 17.01 fantasy points, making him our QB14 this week.

Andy Dalton, Bengals

Yahoo Ownership: 8%

On the flip side of that game, Andy Dalton also has a great matchup, taking on a Miami defense that sits dead last against the pass, as well as last in overall D, according to our metrics. The Dolphins are allowing 20.9 fantasy points per game to opposing signal callers, the fifth-most.

While Dalton was horrible against the New England Patriots' elite pass defense last week, he's put up at least 16 fantasy points in six of his 11 starts, and matchups don't get much better than this.

Dalton -- who has attempted at least 36 passes in 10 of his 11 starts -- is our QB18 this week as we peg him to total 15.96 fantasy points.

Jacoby Brissett, Colts

Yahoo Ownership: 37%

Jacoby Brissett was some kind of awful on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints, totaling just 7.30 fantasy points, most of which came when the game was already decided.

After a good start to the campaign, one in which he posted at least 16 fantasy points in five of his first six games, Brissett has cratered, going past the 16-point mark just once since then, as the Indianapolis Colts have been shorthanded at running back, wideout and tight end.

With all that said, he's in a nice spot this week as Indy hosts the Carolina Panthers in a game in which the Colts are 6.5-point favorites with a 26.5-point implied total. Brissett has averaged 261.7 passing yards per game at home this season, compared to 155.9 on the road, and Carolina has surrendered at least 29 points in each of its last five outings.

T.Y. Hilton playing would be a big boost to Brissett's outlook, but even sans Hilton, the Colts' quarterback is on the radar in two-quarterback formats. We project Brissett for 16.56 points, ranking him as the QB16.
