What Are the Fantasy Implications of Jalen Reagor Landing in Philadelphia?

With the 21 pick in the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected wide receiver Jalen Reagor.

Reagor's Background

A four-star prospect out of Texas, Reagor decided to play close to home with the TCU Horned Frogs. An immediate producer on campus, Reagor's 18.7 Breakout Age remains one of the youngest in this class.

After recorded 576 yards as a true freshman, Reagor truly broke out in 2018 with 1,061 yards and 9 touchdowns. However, Reagor took a major step back in 2019 with only 611 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. However, Reagor suffered from egregious quarterback play that resulted in a mere 37-percent of his targets being accurate. More surprisingly, Reagor was found open on 73-percent of these targets.

After initially appearing on Bruce Feldman's Freak List, Reagor let scouts down with just above average testing. Standing 5-11, 206-pounds, Reagor's 4.47 40-yard dash checked into the 70th-percentile when adjusted for size. However, Reagor's athleticism truly shined in the jumps where he notched a 42" vertical and a 138" broad jump.

What to Expect

Landing in Philadelphia, Reagor is in a wide receiver room including Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Deontay Burnett and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. With Jeffery and Jackson on the wrong side of 30, Reagor fills an immediate need for Philadelphia.

With Nelson Agholor now in Oakland, Reagor has the potential to play right away in Year 1. Arcega-Whiteside face-planted in 2019, giving Reagor a leg up immediately. This pick also likely keeps Burnett from making an impact.

For the Eagles' offense as a whole, Carson Wentz gets a new dynamic weapon. Ultimately, expectations should be tempered for Reagor in Year 1, but the long-term fit could be great. Our JJ Zachariason projects Reagor to catch a conservative 48.6 passes for 621 yards and 3.7 touchdowns. That said, the future looks bright for the rookie from TCU.
