3 Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Options for Week 4

Which widely available tight ends should you be looking to pick up this week?

Thankfully, Week 3 wasn't a bloodbath like Week 2 was. Unfortunately, though, the tight end position got hit the hardest, with Dallas Goedert and Jordan Reed both suffering injuries.

On we march. It's Week 4!

Throughout the season, this column should/will/must be your go-to resource for identifying tight ends to stream when you're in a pinch. After a cursory look at 12-team Yahoo! roster percentages, everyone listed will be rostered in fewer than 60% of Yahoo! leagues.

For now, we'll lean more heavily on last year's data, of course, baking in early season data points, plus offseason news and changes. The more we learn about target shares and how defenses defend tight ends this season, the stronger these predictions will become.

While I highlighted Dallas Goedert in Week 1 and he went on to lead all tight ends in points, last week wasn't as successful.

We're not exactly shooting fish in the barrel with tight end streamers, but we'll aim for better results in Week 4.

Update: The Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots game has been postponed and is expected to be played on Monday or Tuesday. Cam Newton has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play this week.

Eric Ebron, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

Roster Percentage: 27%

We've been down this road before with Eric Ebron, but it's possible it just took a few weeks for him to get adjusted to his new offense. Ebron is coming off season highs in targets, catches and yards after dropping 5-52-1 on 7 targets on Sunday.

His 19.4% target share tied for the team lead, which is notable because Diontae Johnson left the game early with a concussion.

It might just be that simple. If Johnson is out again, Ebron likely enters plug-and-play TE1 territory. He gets to face the Tennessee Titans' defense, which has given up touchdowns to Noah Fant, Tyler Eifert and Kyle Rudolph to start the season. That game already starts the week with a strong 47-point total, but here's betting that number will rise as the week goes on.

Jimmy Graham, TE, Chicago Bears

Roster Percentage: 9%

I can't believe we're here either. But it's #2020, so of course Jordan Reed and now Jimmy Graham have been recommended streamers.

It's tough to ignore touchdown production, and Graham seems to have discovered his nose for the end zone. Graham has now scored three touchdowns and is coming off an impressive 6-60-2 line on 10 targets. That target total was a clear second on the team, and a good chunk of that performance came with Nick Foles in the game.

Foles was excellent in relief of Mitchell Trubisky and has already been announced as the starter for Week 4. Foles undeniably raises the floor and ceiling of this offense, but Graham's usage is even more noteworthy. According to Rotoworld, Graham was second among all tight ends in routes run last week. Second!

He's running a ton of routes, he has a clear end zone role, and his quarterback play just improved. Graham might not be a TE1 all year, but he is right now. His roster percentage simply doesn't match his to-date production and usage.

Robert Tonyan, TE, Green Bay Packers

Roster Percentage: 1%

Let's get weird. After sneakily winning the starting tight end job for the Green Bay Packers this offseason, Robert Tonyan has not relinquished the role. "Baby Kittle" is coming off his best performance as a pro, hanging a tidy 5-50-1 on 5 targets against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night.

This wasn't out of nowhere, either. Tonyan caught a touchdown in Week 1 and has played a bigger role in the offense with rookie tight end/fullback Josiah Deguara out the last two weeks.

It didn't hurt that Davante Adams was out too. Adams seemed close to playing, but there's a possibility he sits again Sunday in a winnable matchup.

Sometimes streaming at tight end is, at its core, just about chasing touchdowns. Aaron Rodgers Is throwing a lot of those these days. Green Bay takes on the Atlanta Falcons Monday night, which has shootout written all over it. The lines aren't out yet, but it would be a shock if this total started below 50.

Additionally, the Falcons have been unsurprisingly forgiving to the tight end position thus far. Greg Olsen caught a touchdown in Week 1, Dalton Schultz went berserk in Week 2, and the aforementioned Jimmy Graham topped them all last week. At the very least, Tonyan is an enticing punt in showdown slates, but he maintains streamer appeal if Deguara and/or Adams are out.
