3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 4

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 30% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dolphins

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 7%

This feels like point chasing after Ryan Fitzpatrick went off for 24.20 fantasy points in Week 2, but Fitz is a really good play once again this week as the Miami Dolphins host the Seattle Seahawks.

Fitz has gone for 24.20 and 24.32 fantasy points in his last two outings, and he's starting 2020 much like he ended 2019 -- by balling out. He scored at least 20 fantasy points in five of the last six weeks of 2019, meaning he's gone for 20-plus in seven of his last nine. He gets a boost from his legs, running for at least 30 yards in four of nine starts in that span.

The matchup with Seattle is a great one. Not only does the game have a gaudy 55.0-point total, but Seattle's secondary has been roasted through three weeks. The 'Hawks have surrendered 1,136 yards to wideouts, which is exactly 400 yards more than any other defense. Seattle is giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to signal callers.

We have Fitzpatrick as our QB18 for the week, projecting him for 18.03 fantasy points.

Gardner Minshew, Jaguars

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 58%

As a popular streamer last week, Gardner Minshew flopped on Thursday night, totaling just 9.20 fantasy points and winding up as the QB30 for the week. We can go right back to him this week, though, as he gets a nice matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cincy has pretty good numbers against quarterbacks this season, but they've faced Tyrod Taylor, Baker Mayfield and a slumping Carson Wentz. A season ago, the Bengals' defense allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (20.2).

Minshew would benefit from getting top weapon D.J. Chark back after Chark sat in Week 3, and Minshew's fantasy outlook is always enhanced by his running ability as he's run for at least 19 yards in all three games this year.

We forecast Minshew for 18.13 fantasy points and rank him as Week 4's QB15.

Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 36%

As of Tuesday, Jimmy Garoppolo isn't a lock to start this week for the San Francisco 49ers. But if he's in there, this is a great spot to stream Jimmy G as the Niners host the struggling Philadelphia Eagles.

Philly is allowing 19.10 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, and the Niners -- who are 6.5-point favorites -- have a solid 25.75-point implied total. Our schedule-adjusted numbers have the Eagles with the league's eighth-worst pass D.

The expected positive game script is good news for Jimmy G, as is the potential return of George Kittle. In wins in 2019, Garoppolo threw for 258.8 yards per game, compared to 204.3 yards per game in defeats.

I like Fitz and Minshew better, but those in deeper leagues or two-quarterback formats can feel fine using Garoppolo in this spot.
