3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamer Options for Week 8

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Daniel Jones, Giants

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 41%

Daniel Jones has a dope matchup with the Seattle Seahawks this week.

Seattle has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (18.2), and they've surrendered the seventh-most rushing yards (151) to the position.

Jones has run for at least 21 yards in all but one game, and he has a legit big-play ability with his legs, rushing for 107 yards and a score last week. His ground game raises both his floor and ceiling on a weekly basis, and the emergence of rookie Wan'Dale Robinson gives Jones a much-needed weapon in the passing game.

Our model is into Jones this week, projecting him to total 15.97 fantasy points and ranking him as the QB12.

Jameis Winston, Saints

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 21%

I don't know who will start at quarterback this week for the New Orleans Saints, and they're not saying -- as of Monday. But whether it's Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton, I'm interested in streaming the Saints' signal-caller in Week 8.

New Orleans is at home against the Las Vegas Raiders. It should be a fantasy-friendly game environment as the matchup sports a 47.5-point total and 1.5-point spread. On top of that, Vegas has permitted the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (23.8).

I would prefer Winston to get the nod over Dalton, but either is a fine play in this matchup -- especially if Michael Thomas and/or Jarvis Landry return from injury. As of now, we project Winston for 14.97 points and slot him as the week's QB15.

Marcus Mariota, Falcons

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 28%

Marcus Mariota has been a surprisingly quality fantasy option this year.

He's the QB11 for the season, and his running ability is a big reason why as he's rushed for 237 yards and three scores. Mariota has run for at least 31 yards in three straight games.

The upside hasn't been there due to a lack of passing volume, and as we saw last week, the Atlanta Falcons are super committed to the run, letting Mariota throw the ball only 13 times at the Cincinnati Bengals despite facing a very negative game script.

But Mariota's legs are the main draw, and despite a tougher-than-you-might-think matchup with the Carolina Panthers, Mariota is this week's QB11, per our model. We project him to score 16.04 points.
