3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamer Options for Week 14
Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.
Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.
If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.
Tyler Huntley, Ravens
Yahoo Roster Percentage: 2%
It looks like Tyler Huntley is in line to start this week for the Baltimore Ravens.
While a road date with the Pittsburgh Steelers is a tough matchup, Huntley is an enticing streamer due to his running ability. In relief of Lamar Jackson in Week 13, Huntley totaled 15.58 fantasy points against a stout Denver Broncos defense thanks in large part to 10 carries, 41 yards and a score as a runner.
Pittsburgh has permitted the 10th-most fantasy points per game (17.9) to quarterbacks, and we project Huntley to score 15.35 points this week, making him our QB15.
Jard Goff, Lions
Yahoo Roster Percentage: 51%
Jared Goff is over the roster-percentage cutoff for this article, but it's close enough that I wanted to mention him anyway -- because he's in a great spot this week. If you have Goff from last week or if he's available in your league, he is the best streamer out there.
In Week 13, Goff rocked the Jacksonville Jaguars for 340 yards and two touchdowns. We can't expect him to be that good again, but he's got a great matchup once more.
Goff is at home against the Minnesota Vikings. For the season, Minnesota has surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points per game (18.9) to quarterbacks. Mac Jones (382 yards) and Mike White (369 yards) have had huge yardage days against the Vikes over the past two weeks.
Playing indoors in a game with a 53.5-point total and 1.5-point spread, Goff checks about all the boxes we could realistically ask for from a streamer. Our model has him posting 17.51 points and slots him as the QB10.
Ryan Tannehill, Titans
Yahoo Roster Percentage: 18%
Ryan Tannehill draws a home date with the Jags, the same defense Goff just roasted last week.
The Jaguars have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game (19.0) to quarterbacks. They've also given up the fifth-most rushing yards to the position, and Tannehill offers some juice as a runner. In two meetings with Jacksonville in 2021, Tannehill racked up 21 and 29 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
The Tennessee Titans have a respectable 23.0-point implied total, and we forecast Tannehill to produce 14.16 fantasy points. He's our QB21 for the week.
