Cam Newton (foot) to remain sidelined for Panthers in Week 4
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (foot) is out for Week 4 versus the Houston Texans.
"What Cam needs right now is time and rest for his foot," head coach Ron Rivera explained. "We want him at 100 percent when he’s ready, so there’s no exact timetable for his return." Kyle Allen crushed it while filling in on Sunday (19-for-26, 261 yards, 4 touchdowns), so the Panthers may be opting to take a conservative approach with Newton's return.
Newton has completed 56.2 percent of his passes for 572 yards (6.4 per attempt) with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception this season while rushing just 5 times for -2 yards.
