Panthers' Cam Newton out indefinitely with Lisfranc injury
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is out indefinitely due to a Lisfranc injury.
The original timeline for Newton's return to action was expected to mirror his timeline from the preseason, but now that is highly unlikely. Newton isn't planning to have surgery and is looking at a potential recovery period of 4-8 weeks. In his absence, Kyle Allen will continue to start for the Panthers.
Assuming a Week 8 return, our models project Newton for 279.1 completions for 3,054.7 yards and 19.47 touchdowns over the rest of the season.
