Melvin Gordon may not see 'too much' for Chargers Sunday
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said Friday that he doesn't want to play running back Melvin Gordon "too much" in Week 5 versus the Denver Broncos.
"I don’t want to put him in there and play him too much, and I really don’t have to," Lynn said. "I like what Austin Ekeler has been doing." Ekeler was excellent for the Chargers while Gordon held out for the first month of the season, so it's no surprise that Lynn wants to keep him involved. Both backs should see enough volume to provide standalone value. Ekeler is second on the team in both receptions (24) and targets (25).
numberFire's models project Gordon for 16.4 touches, 88.5 yards, 0.70 touchdowns, and 14.5 FanDuel points on Sunday. He's priced at $6,800 and is the RB13 in our Week 5 fantasy rankings. Ekeler is the RB9.
