Washington mum on starting quarterback

Washington Redskins interim head coach Bill Callahan declined to name a starting quarterback on Monday.

What It Means:

Callahan did rule out rookie Dwayne Haskins as an option, leaving Colt McCoy and Case Keenum as the hapless contenders. McCoy was predictably terrible in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots, completing 18-of-27 passes for 119 yards (4.4 per attempt) and an interception. Keenum was yanked in the first half of Week 4 following some dreadful play. Washington faces the Miami Dolphins in Week 6 in what may be their most winnable game of the year.

The Redskins are 28th in the NFL in yards per game and 26th in passing yards per game.
