Chargers' Melvin Gordon expected to see more reps in Week 6
Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon's rep count is expected to increase against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. On Friday Lynn said "I mean, I think last week Austin [Ekeler]’s rep count was much higher than Melvin’s. You could see Melvin’s going up this week.".
Gordon had 16 touches in Week 5 following his return from a multi-week holdout. In the past, Gordon has handled the majority of touches in the Chargers' backfield, but with Austin Ekeler playing well, it remains to be seen if he will return to that role this season. Our models project Gordon for 21.7 touches in Week 6 against a Steelers' run defense rated 4th overall by our power rankings.
Our models project Gordon for 16.5 FanDuel points against the Steelers on Sunday night. He is priced at $6,600 on the Sunday-Monday slate and $12,000 on the single-game Sunday night slate.
