Saints' Sean Payton won't name starting quarterback for Week 8
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton will not name a starting quarterback for Sunday's Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Star veteran Drew Brees is still recovering from the thumb injury that has kept him sidelined since Week 2, though he was able to return to practice this week. He was limited, but he seemed eager to get back on the field. With a bye week coming up for New Orleans, Payton could elect to start Teddy Bridgewater and give Brees an extra two weeks of rest.
Our models currently project Brees for 134.3 passing yards, 1.2 touchdowns, 0.2 interceptions and 10.1 FanDuel points, and they project Bridgewater for 121.0 passing yards, 0.7 touchdowns, 0.4 interceptions and 9.0 FanDuel points. In other words, it's a complete toss-up at the moment.
