Panthers confirm Kyle Allen will start Week 9
Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen will start in Wek 9 against the Tennessee Titans, coach Ron Rivera said.
Cam Newton (foot) will remain on the sidelines. Allen struggled badly against a stout 49ers defense on Sunday (4.3 yards per pass, 0 touchdowns, 3 interceptions), but will retain the starting job for now. It is unclear when Newton will return but he was spotted working out before Sunday's game.
Allen completed 19 of 37 passes for 158 yards on Sunday and scored just 3.3 FanDuel points.
