Jaylen Samuels scuffles for 40 yards in Steelers' loss

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Samuels rushed 14 times for 29 yards and caught 3 passes (7 targets) for 11 yards in a 17-12, Week 10 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

What It Means:

Samuels drew a second straight start in place of James Conner (shoulder), but he managed less than half as many yards from scrimmage. Tony Brookes-James and Trey Edmunds also sapped away 12 combined touches. Samuels and Kalen Ballage are the only players in the NFL this season averaging fewer than 2.3 yards on 40-plus rush attempts. The Steelers play on Thursday night in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns. If Conner misses a third straight game, the offense may opt to go with more of a committee backfield approach.

Samuels scored 5.5 FanDuel points in Week 10. He has 89 rushing yards (2.2 per carry), 29 receptions (35 targets), 167 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown in seven games this season.
