Falcons reportedly acquire Hayden Hurst from Ravens to fill void
The Atlanta Falcons acquired tight end Hayden Hurst and a 2020 fourth-round pick from the Baltimore Ravens for a 2020 second-round pick and 2020 fifth-round pick, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The move comes immediately after tight end Austin Hooper reportedly came to terms on a long-term deal with the Cleveland Browns. It's an optimal outcome for Hurst, as the former first-round pick goes from third on the depth chart in the league's most run-heavy offense to a potential starter for a team that attempted more passes than anyone else in the NFL last year. Hurst caught 30 passes on 39 targets for 349 yards and 2 touchdowns in his second season. He turns 27 in August.
Hurst averaged only 3.9 FanDuel points per game last season. Among all tight ends with at least 30 targets, he was 6th in yards per target (9.0).
