Devon Kennard headed to Arizona on three-year contract
Former Detroit Lions linebacker Devon Kennard has a new home, as he is joining the Arizona Cardinals on a three-year deal.
Kennard, a team captain a year ago, was released earlier Wednesday after the Lions signed Jamie Collins. He's coming off a season in which he picked up a career-high 49 tackles while matching his personal-best with 7.0 sacks. Kennard joins a Cardinals team that doesn't have a ton of experience in the linebacking corps.
With a 12.5 pressure percentage in 2019, Kennard ranked 22nd in the league among linebackers with at least 100 rush attempts. He also ranked 22nd in hurry percentage (8.6) while jumping up to T-19th in hit and knockdown percentages.
