Todd Gurley quickly picked up by Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons signed running back Todd Gurley, formerly of the Los Angeles Rams, to a 1-year, $5 million contract.
The deal is pending a physical. It makes sense, as the Falcons needed a running back and Gurley is very familiar with the area after playing for the University of Georgia at the previous level. He has arthritic knees and averaged a four-year low 4.2 yards per touch last season, but Gurley should see plenty of volume in the Falcons' backfield.
Gurley averaged 13.6 FanDuel points and 70.9 yards from scrimmage with 14 touchdowns last season. Despite the inefficiency, Gurley did have the third-highest success rate (46.2 percent) among the 45 running backs with 100-plus carries.
