Tom Brady officially signs with Buccaneers for 2 years, $60 million

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially signed quarterback Tom Brady to a 2-year, $60 million contract.

What It Means:

The deal includes $50 million guaranteed and $4.5 million each year in incentives, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. He will be 44 at the end of the contract. The Buccaneers have arguably the best wide receiver duo in the league and a pair of solid tight ends, but Brady's addition could lead to less production from the offense as a whole. Brady had nearly 2,000 fewer air yards (4,641) than league-leader Jameis Winston (6,538) and an average depth of target of 7.5 yards, compared to 10.4 for Winston.

Brady averaged 253.6 passing yards, 1.50 touchdowns, and 16.98 FanDuel points per game last season. He only added .07 Passing Net Expected Points per play, the veteran's lowest mark since 2003. The 2019 league average was 0.10.
