Reggie Ragland reportedly joining Lions
The Detroit Lions and linebacker Reggie Ragland, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, have agreed to terms on a contract, reports Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Ragland started for the Chiefs in their Super Bowl LIV win, but he was a rotational piece throughout the season, logging a career-low 235 snaps. Despite the limited role, Ragled recorded personal-bests in sacks (2.0) and quarterback hits (3) while matching his career-high in tackles for loss (4). The former second-round pick also picked up his first fumble and took it to the house for his first NFL touchdown. Ragland figures to play a larger role for a Lions team in need of linebacker help.
Ragland finished as the Chiefs' highest-graded linebacker to play at least 300 snaps in 2019 (63.0) and 2017 (76.0), per Pro Football Focus. He was 19th (70.4) against the run last season.
