Steelers' Eric Ebron (ankle) still recovering

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Eric Ebron said he is still recovering from his late-season ankle operation.

What It Means:

Ebron missed the final five games of the season. “If the season started today, I don’t think I’d be able to 100 percent perform," Ebron said. "But we don’t play today.” The Steelers signed Ebron to a 2-year, $12 million contract last month, so they don't seem to be too concerned. Ebron was limited to 3 touchdowns in 2019 after racking up a career-high 13 scores with the Indianapolis Colts the previous season. He committed 5 drops on 52 targets, recording the highest drop rate (9.6 percent) among all tight ends with more than 50 targets. Ebron turns 27 next Friday.

Ebron averaged 6.5 FanDuel points per game, finishing as the TE20, with 31 receptions (2.8 per game) for 375 yards (34.1) and the aforementioned 3 touchdowns. He ranked 4th in numberFire's advanced receiving metric per target out of 29 tight ends with 50-plus targets.
