Micah Kiser

Rams' Micah Kiser could earn starting job

Los Angeles Rams linebacker Micah Kiser is a potential starter on the inside, writes Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.

What It Means:

The Rams need a replacement at inside linebacker for Cory Littleton, who started every game each of the past two seasons before signing a multi-year deal with the Oakland Raiders last month. Klein says the Rams are "counting on" Kiser "to step up and help fill the void." That may be a daunting task, as the 2018 fifth-round pick hasn't played a defensive snap since entering the NFL. He strictly played special teams as a rookie and then missed all of last season with a torn pec. Kiser turned 25 in January.

Littleton led the Rams in defensive snaps each of the past two seasons, so Kiser could return IDP value based on playing time alone. It'll be difficult to replicate the quality of play of Littleton, who graded as Pro Football Focus' seventh-best linebacker last season out of 63 players at his position to play at least 500 snaps.
