Yannick Ngakoue demands trade from Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars franchise-tagged defensive end Yannick Ngakoue demanded a trade Monday afternoon on Twitter.
"Just trade me," Ngakoue tweeted during a heated exchange with co-owner Tony Khan. Ngakoue reiterated his desire to move on from the Jaguars earlier this month, but NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Monday that "things are quiet" on the trade front. That's likely due to the fact Ngakoue is going to cost a lot in draft picks and he requires a lavish new deal. The 25-year-old has recorded at least 8.0 sacks and forced 4-plus fumbles each of his first four seasons in the league.
Ngakoue recorded 8.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, 6 pass deflections, 15 quarterback hits, and 27 pressures in 15 games last season. Per Pro Football Focus, he has produced top-20 pass-rush grades among edge defenders with at least 500 snaps each of the past three seasons.
