Rams address running back, select Cam Akers at No. 52
The Los Angeles Rams selected Florida State running back Cam Akers with the 52nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
What It Means:
After moving on from Todd Gurley earlier in the offseason, the Rams add Akers to their backfield. Akers handled 231 carries last season, resulting in 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also added 30 receptions for 225 yards and 4 touchdowns through the air.
Akers was Pro Football Focus' 6th ranked running back in this year's draft class. He earned a grade of 79.2 last season, 56th best at the position.
