Giants exercise Evan Engram's fifth-year
The New York Giants exercised tight end Evan Engram's fifth-year option for 2021.
Engram has missed 13 games over the past two seasons due to injuries and he's currently recovering from Lisfranc surgery. However, the former first-round pick has proven to be effective when healthy. His career-high 58.4 yards per game last season was sixth-most among all tight ends and he cleared 100 yards twice in eight games. Engram also had at least 4 catches and 40 yards in all but one contest. It's not clear if the former first-round pick will be ready for the start of the season, whenever that may be. He turns 26 in September.
Engram averaged 10.9 FanDuel points (TE7) in eight games last season. His 0.47 Receiving Net Expected Points per target was below the league average for tight ends (0.60).
