Washington declines Reuben Foster 2021 option
The Washington Redskins declined linebacker Rueben Foster's fifth-year option for 2021.
Foster tore his ACL, MCL, and LCL during OTAs last May in his first offseason with Washington, so it's understandable that the team doesn't want to commit beyond 2020 when he hasn't played a snap for them. The former first-round pick may be able to salvage his career under new head coach Ron Rivera, but he's appeared in just 16 games through three seasons.
Foster has 10 tackles for loss and 0 sacks in his career. He graded 84th on Pro Football Focus overall in 2018 out of 88 linebackers with at least 300 defensive snaps.
