Eagles' JJ Arcega-Whiteside dealt with multiple rookie injuries

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside emphasized he dealt with multiple injuries throughout his rookie year.

What It Means:

Arcega-Whiteside said things were so bad at one point that he needed help just to get to the bathroom in the morning. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman previously said last year's 57th overall pick was playing through a lower body injury for most of the season, so this checks out. It helps explain why Arcega-Whiteside was limited to 169 yards and 1 touchdown on 10 catches (22 targets) as a rookie. He will need to take a big step forward next season in order to see guaranteed volume in a wide receiver group that the Eagles invested heavily in this offseason.

Arcega-Whiteside averaged 3.5 FanDuel points per game last year. His 45.5 percent catch rate was third-worst in the NFL out of 252 players to see at least 20 targets last season. On a positive note, JJAW added 0.76 Reception Net Expected Points per target, second-best on the Eagles and just above league-average (0.70).
