Pernell McPhee re-signs with Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens re-signed linebacker/edge player Pernell McPhee to a 1-year contract.
McPhee made seven starts for the Ravens last season before suffering a season-ending triceps injury. He hasn't played a full season since 2014 and has more missed games (24) than sacks recorded (17) in that span, primarily because of problems with his knees. Despite the durability issues, McPhee figures to play a sizable role for the Ravens next season when healthy, though it may not be as a starter. McPhee recorded 3.0 sacks in the first six games last year, second-most on the team at the time. He turned 31 in December.
Per Pro Football Focus, McPhee graded 11th against the run and 56th as a pass-rusher out of 114 edge defenders to play at least 250 defensive snaps last season.
