Colts 'very optimistic' Philip Rivers will stick past 2020

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich said he's "very optimistic" quarterback Philip Rivers will be with the team for more than one season.

What It Means:

The Colts signed Rivers to a one-year contract at the beginning of free agency. Now 38, Rivers averaged 7.1 adjusted yards per attempt last season, all the way down from 8.7 in 2018. He also had a career-low touchdown percentage (3.9) and threw nearly as many interceptions (20) as in the previous two years combined (22). However, Rivers should benefit from playing behind one of the best offensive lines in football in Indianapolis.

Rivers is the QB28 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 4,081.2 yards, 25.9 touchdowns, and 14.6 interceptions over the course of the season.
