Matthew Stafford fully recovered, committed to Lions

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford indicated he's fully healthy ahead of the 2020 season.

What It Means:

Stafford missed the second half of last season due to back and hip issues. "I feel great," he said, via the team's official website. "I'm not worried about going out there and playing. If we could put the pads on today and go play, I would do it. I think my teammates know, the guys that have been with me, seen me throw it around, I'm as good as I've been the last couple years physically and I feel fine." Prior to going down last season, Stafford's 6.5 touchdown percentage set a personal-best and his 312.4 yards per game was the second-best of his career, as well as second-most in the league. He also threw for a career-high 8.6 yards per attempt and had the highest average depth of target (10.6 yards) among all passers with at least 100 dropbacks. The former top overall pick turned 32 in February.

Stafford is the QB14 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 4,486.2 yards, 25.1 touchdowns, and 9.7 interceptions over the course of the season.
