Andre Dillard taking over as Eagles' left tackle
Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Andre Dillard is the team's starting left tackle, head coach Doug Pederson announced.
"As we move forward, Andre Dillard was the player we drafted to be the left tackle for us," Pederson said when discussing departed free agent Jason Peters. "He's taken command in that role. I have a ton of confidence in Andre Dillard." Last year's first-round pick wasn't great over 337 snaps, including four starts, in his rookie campaign, but Dillard should take a step forward in his second season. Peters had been the Eagles' starting left tackle since joining the team in 2009.
Dillard earned a 59.7 overall blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking 12th out of 26 rookie offensive lineman to play at least 100 snaps last season. He was 64th out of 88 tackles with 250-plus snaps.
