Spencer Pulley 'in lead' for Giants' center job
New York Giants center Spencer Pulley is "in the lead for the starting job," according to Paul Schwartz of New York Post.
Nick Gates and Jon Halapio, who tore his Achilles tendon in last year's season finale and remains unsigned. Pulley only played 95 snaps last year after making nine starts with the Giants in 2018. The former undrafted free agent has made 26 NFL starts between the Giants and Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers. Gates started two games last season at right tackle and one at right guard, but he only saw practice snaps at center.
The Giants' offensive line graded 17th overall on Pro Football Focus last season. The offense ranked 24th in numberFire's advanced per-play metrics.
