Falcons' expecting a "jump" in Calvin Ridley's game in 2020
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley is expected to elevate his game to the next level in 2020, according to Offensive Coordinator Dirk Koetter.
Koetter raved about Ridley on Tuesday, stating that "Calvin has just exceptional speed and quickness, his quick-twitch body movements are exceptional. I think Calvin will do nothing but get better the more he works with Matt (Ryan)." He also added that he believes that Ridley's talent is even higher than the impressive numbers he has put up during the first two years of his career. The 26th overall draft pick in 2018, Ridley enters his third season with sky-high expectations following a promising sophomore season that was cut short in Week 14 due to injury. Ridley caught 63 of 91 targets (69.2%) for 866 yards (13.7 per reception) and 7 touchdowns last season. His NFL passer rating when targeted of 115.9 was 20 points higher than teammate Julio Jones', making him Matt Ryan's most efficient target.
Ridley is the WR16 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 123.6 targets, 79.8 receptions, 1,041.3 yards, and 6.5 touchdowns.
