Jalen Richard pinned for Raiders' pass-catching role

Las Vegas Raiders running back Jalen Richard should retain a pass-catching role out of the backfield, writes Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com.

What It Means:

Richard led the Raiders' backfield with 43 targets and 323 receiving yards last season. He didn't do a whole lot with the workload, as Richard failed to find the end zone all year and only cracked 50 yards once. The former undrafted free agent also averaged a career-low 3.7 yards per carry on 39 attempts. Josh Jacobs, free-agent addition Devontae Booker, and third-round rookie Lynn Bowden Jr. could all potentially cut into Richard's workload in 2020.

numberFire's models project Richard for 66.7 carries, 295.3 rushing yards, 14.2 catches (18.0 targets), 116.9 receiving yards, and 2.6 touchdowns. He's the RB62 in our preseason fantasy rankings. Jacobs is expected to lead the Raiders' backfield with 37.0 targets.
