Ziggy Hood signs one-year deal with Redskins
The Washington Redskins signed defensive end Ziggy Hood to a one-year contract.
A first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009, Hood signed a big contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars prior to the 2014 season, but he landed on injured reserve with a foot injury at the end of training camp last September. He made two appearances with the Chicago Bears after being released from injured reserve in October. Hood worked out for the Redskins earlier this month. He will compete for a rotational role in camp.
Washington ended 2015 ranked 17th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play, which was last among the 12 playoff teams.
