Jaguars reportedly rejecting Yannick Ngakoue offers
The Jacksonville Jaguars have turned down several offers for franchise-tagged defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
One of the deals that the Jaguars turned down was for a Pro Bowl player who "didn't fit their system," according to Pelissero. They have no incentive to off Ngakoue at a discount, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Pro Bowl defensive end has at least begun contract talks with other teams in hopes of facilitating a future deal. Ngakoue recorded 8.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, 6 pass deflections, 15 quarterback hits, and 27 pressures in 15 games last season. The 25-year-old has recorded at least 8.0 sacks and forced 4-plus fumbles each of his first four seasons in the league.
numberFire's models expect Ngakoue to record 50.4 tackles, 9.7 sacks, 3.4 pass deflections, and 2.2 forced fumbles this season. The Jaguars D/ST is 22nd in our preseason fantasy rankings.
