Chase Young signs rookie deal with Washington
The Washington Football Team signed No. 2 overall pick edge player Chase Young to a four-year, $34.56 million contract.
The deal includes a fifth-year team option for 2024, which is the norm for first-round picks. Young should have no problem transitioning to the NFL but he may not be guaranteed a three-down role right away on a loaded Washington defensive front. Young led the entire FBS with 16.5 sacks last season, finishing with 30.5 sacks over his career at Ohio State. The No. 2 overall pick enters his rookie year at the ripe age of 21.
numberFire's models project Young for 37.5 tackles and 1.0 sacks in 2020. Washington's D/ST is 23rd in our preseason fantasy rankings.
