Adam Shaheen

Dolphins acquire tight end Adam Shaheen from Bears

The Miami Dolphins have traded a condition 2021 sixth-round pick for Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen.

What It Means:

Shaheen, a second-round pick out of small-school Ashland, has struggled to make an impact since entering the NFL in 2017. However, a change of scenery could be exactly what the 25-year-old needs. The Dolphins are sorely lacking in tight end depth behind Mike Gesicki, and Shaheen does offer upside with his enormous frame (6'6", 278lbs) and 79th-percentile athleticism.

Shaheen has amassed just 26 receptions for 249 yards and 3 scores in his three seasons, and has been healthy for only 27 of a potential 48 games. He's earned underwhelming grades from PFF since entering the league, but Miami's quarterback situation with Ryan Fitzgerald and Tua Tagovailoa is likely much better than Chicago's has been. Shaheen is unlikely to make much of an impact for fantasy in 2020, but is a name to keep an eye on in tight end premium dynasty leagues.
