Logan Thomas could be Washington's top tight end in 2020
Sports Illustrated's Bryan Manning believes that Logan Thomas 'immediately' became the Washington Football Team's top tight end when he signed with the team this offseason.
It's the first hype we've heard of the former-quarterback-turned-tight-end since he joined Washington this offseason. Washington officially lost both Jordan Reed (free agency) and Vernon Davis (retirement) this year, and have a glaring need at the position, so this does make some sense. Whether or not Thomas will be able to make an impact for the first time in his professional career remains to be seen.
Washington's top tight end last season was Jeremy Sprinkle, who amassed just 40 targets for 26 receptions, 241 yards and 1 score despite the team's abysmal pass-catching corps. Thomas has always offered intriguing upside due to his 91st-percentile speed score, and with Washington's paper-thin depth chart, he could finally make an impact for fantasy. He's currently ranked as numberFire's TE62, but he could see a surprising amount of opportunities this season.
