Eagles release receiver Riley Cooper
The Philadelphia Eagles have released receiver Riley Cooper.
Since averaging 17.8 yards per catch in 2013, Cooper has managed only 11.9 yards per grab. He doesn't make plays. The transaction frees up $2.9 million in cap space, and creates $8.7 million in real savings. There's $2.4 million in dead money. There were three years left on his deal, but 2018 was voidable.
Cooper caught just 21 passes for 327 yards and two scores this past season. Among receivers with at least 30 targets, he ranked 32nd in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
