Dare Ogunbowale expected to have Buccaneers' third-down role
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Dare Ogunbowale is expected to handle third-down duties, writes Jenna Laine of ESPN.com.
Laine says Ronald Jones will handle early downs, with LeSean McCoy as a change-of-pace option and Ogunbowale taking care of third-down work. It sounds like third-round rookie Ke'Shawn Vaughn will be limited to special teams to start his career. Ogunbowale led the Buccaneers backfield with 46 targets last season but Ronald Jones wasn't far behind with 40 targets of his own.
numberFire's models expect Ogunbowale to be out-targeted by Jones 27.3-34.1 this season. He's projected for 19.3 catches and 122.6 yards. Ogunbowale produced 286 scoreless yards on 6.2 yards per target in 2019, ranking 18th out of 43 backs with at least 30 targets.
