Buccaneers officially place O.J. Howard (Achilles) on IR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed tight end O.J. Howard on season-ending injured reserve with a torn Achilles' tendon.

What It Means:

Howard will return in 2021 for his contract year. He had 49 yards in each of the last two games and actually drew the third-most targets (19) through Tom Brady's first quarter-season in a Buccaneers uniform. Howard had at least a 48.5 percent snap share in the first three games prior to injury. Cameron Brate will likely take on most of Howard's workload.

numberFire's models expect Brate to draw 1.3 targets versus the Bears on Thursday night while Rob Gronkowski is projected for 3.6 targets. Brate has a FanDuel salary of $6,000 on Thursday's slate.
