Alshon Jeffery (illness) ruled out for Eagles with non-COVID illness
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (illness) is out for Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Jeffery is dealing with an illness not related to COVID-19 that will delay his season debut at least one more week. The Eagles may also be without DeSean Jackson (hamstring), so John Hightower and Travis Fulgham may be asked to play larger roles again. Hightower led the team in yards and Fulgham caught Carson Wentz's only touchdown pass.
The Eagles have the second-worst passing offense in the league this season, according to numberFire's analytics, so Jeffery's return should serve as some sort of upgrade. The Steelers rank 24th against the pass in those same models.
